On September 9 the new National Spanish Honor Society held its first meeting. The lack of one in previous years encouraged the current officers to create a new Spanish service club. This new honor society will work to further the experience students have in and out of the Spanish classroom, from field trips to better in class funding by planning new fundraisers. To qualify students will need to a maintain a B average in a Spanish course and be willing to help out at larger community events. Alex Uy one of the officers for the club wanted to stress the accepting nature of the club by saying, “Our goal is to encourage students to become part of a Spanish speaking community.” The new NSHS will we hosting a booth at Bite of Braddock, selling discounted Pura Vida bracelets at their booth while supplies last.
