Socks for Change

Sean Evans, Staff Writer

Starting Tuesday, October 9 a new campaign will begin. Its goal: Collect socks for the homeless. Socktober, as it’s being called by its organizers, is going to be a school-wide fundraiser to gather socks for the homeless shelters. The event was coordinated by Abby Williams in the middle school and the athletic leadership class in the high school. This fundraiser will continue all the way through Halloween, with the possibility of a crazy sock day on October 29 to garner support. Paul Agner, a representative for the event, said to tune into social media for updates and stressed the importance of the event, “A sock doesn’t change someone’s life but knowing someone cared enough, that I exist, to give me a sock should change someone’s life.” Deposit boxes will be found in the library, cafeteria, and room G102 for the duration of the event.
