The Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) is right around the corner. The test will take place on Wednesday, October 10. Depending on which grade you are in, this test has different meanings. All ninth graders will be taking the PSAT 8/9, which is a test built to ready them for the PSAT 10 that they will be taking in tenth grade. All 10th graders will be taking the PSAT, which will prepare them for not only the SAT but the PSAT 11, which juniors will be taking in an effort to earn National Merit Scholarships depending on their score. While eleventh graders have to pay in order to receive scores and become eligible for the National Merit Scholarships, it is also a good opportunity to prepare for the SAT and the ACT, both of which are frequently taken later in the junior year or during senior year.

On testing day, all students should report their second period class. At 8:15, all students will be dismissed to their appropriate testing locations. The test will take 3 hours. All students will be dismissed at 12:30.

Good luck, and happy testing!
