Cross Country Trip to Bethlehem Pennsylvania

The girls and boys cross country team traveled to Bethlehem Pennsylvania to race at the Lehigh University Paul Short Invitational. The invitational was a 5K on the college campus that is nestled in a mountainous region. The team arrived in Pennsylvania Thursday afternoon and ran at a national park and then went out to eat at Nick’s Lake House and spotted a black bear in the parking lot. Friday, the team hiked to Hawk Falls Waterfall and then did their prerace at the course and Coach Jason Switzer led the team in previewing the course. Saturday the Bruins woke up early to go watch the college races that included Bruin alumni. Varsity boys finished sixth overall with sophomore Josh Putz first in for the boys, running 16:34 and placing 29th overall. Varsity girls finished third overall, led by freshman Lexi Hague who was first in, running 19:12 and placing 15th overall. JV boys placed sixth overall and JV girls finished third overall. After their races, the team went to the Halloween Fright Night at Dorney Park.
